Be Ready—This Will Be a Hot Summer!

Do not be fooled by the year 2014’s mild spring weather. Farmer’s Almanac long-range weather predictions indicate that the coming summer will be a trying one for most regions of the United States. It will be an excellent summer to have an air conditioner in your home, wherever you are!

The typically mild Pacific Northwest region gets a break in the Almanac’s projections—its weather forecast is “Comfortably warm and dry.” It gets rougher even a bit further south in California and the American Southwest, which are predicted as “Hot and dry.” Temperatures will rise into the hundreds in some regions of Nevada and Arizona, as is typical.

The Great Plains, from Montana on to the Mississippi river, will see more sweltering temperatures than usual, and Texas and its neighboring states will face typical hot summer weather. Furthermore, these regions will likely see a flare-up in tornadoes in late June.

The conditions east of the Mississippi will perhaps be hardest to bear. The humidity will be atypically high, to go along with hazy, hot, and rainy weather in the American South. Even worse news awaits the Great Lakes region and the Northeast, with the Almanac’s projections calling for “oppressively humid, wet, and thundery conditions,” with the possibility of an early tropical storm on the East Coast.

Air conditioners will of course be in high demand with such severe summer weather across the country. AC World has more than enough air conditioners to go around, and any home or business owner without an air conditioner would do well to consider the benefits of adding one.

There are proven and established benefits to air conditioned homes, besides the obvious comfort that cooler indoor temperatures bring in summer weather. AC units filter indoor air, leading to easier breathing, especially for those with asthma or respiratory health concerns. Computers and other electronics are known to be sensitive to extreme heat, and indoor temperatures in the nineties or higher can cause serious damage to some of a homeowner’s most expensive property. Furthermore, a resident’s quality of sleep will be much higher with a comfortable indoor quality and temperature of air.

Air conditioners are far from a luxury item; they are an essential element of home safety, proper health for homeowners, and home maintenance. Whatever your situation and summer weather, AC World has a model that can fit your needs and budget!
