Air Conditioning and Your Child’s Play Time

These days our children tend to play inside more and more. While this often protects them from unsafe neighborhoods, bugs and other dangers, you should be particular about your child’s play space at home. One critical aspect of this preparation, which we will discuss here, is that of air conditioning. Your child should play in a comfortable environment which also provides a consistent influx and movement of clean air. Unfiltered or stagnant interior air has been linked to a number of health concerns including allergies, headaches, fatigue and even pneumonia. Not to mention the possibility of mold or mildew growing where your child plays. Dehumidification and filtration technology has progressed greatly in recent years and many products offer it even in portable units. For these reasons, a localized air conditioning system is often a wise and cost effective choice for many families with a child. Below we discuss the two great options to consider when buying a localized AC system.
Free standing air conditioning units have a number of advantages. It’s great to be able to take your air conditioning with you into another room when you need it. This saves you money on electricity cooling your whole house, and you can easily take your air conditioner with you when you move, which makes them great for apartment living. When you place your free standing air conditioner in the play room, you can adjust the dehumidification settings to allow for the best comfort of your child.
Wall mounted air conditioning units are a great choice for your child’s playroom or bedroom. First of all, they can be mounted away from curious hands at a level only adults can reach. Like modern free standing units, wall mounted units are also much quieter than traditional window-mounted air conditioners. They are not much harder to install than window units, needing only a small hole between the indoors and the outdoors, and they use much less electricity.
