Beating the summer heat

I am a landlord in a small town. It’s a good way to make money now that I am semi-retired, and still love to fix things. I own around three dozen apartments spread across four buildings, each of which was built before 1930.
I bought each building one at a time for cheap and did much of the remodeling myself. Since the buildings were so old, there wasn’t much space for installing central HVAC, and of course, none of them came with it already installed. Luckily, two of the buildings had a central boiler so I didn’t have to worry about heating them in the bitter winters we get here. It was easy to retrofit the other two building with baseboard heating units in each room.
You will notice that I didn’t mention anything about installing air conditioning. Last summer was especially hot. Summers around here used to be much milder. I don’t understand how some people in my town still seem to believe that climate change is not real or caused by humanity. It boggles the mind.
Anyway, I should get back to dealing with the heat. Humidity was a huge issue for my clients last summer, since the fans that people usually used to beat the heat no longer worked as well (especially across a whole room).
Luckily, I found AC-World. They gave me a great deal on a bulk order of ductless split air conditioning systems. I was able to get systems which also include heating, so I was able to get rid of both the inefficient baseboard heaters in two of my buildings. I also shut down the noisy boilers in my other two buildings and remove the radiators, which my tenants there were grateful for. This summer, my tenants are much happier, and the heating bills this past winter were lower than ever!
