Europeans don’t understand American Air Conditioning Use

Europeans don’t understand American Air Conditioning UseEuropeans get through summers that are quite hot, without the assistance of air conditioning. A recent survey has shown that Europeans don’t really understand why Americans feel the need to use as much air conditioning as they do. This has caused a bit of controversy, as might have been expected.

The truth is, the United States does use a large amount of electricity on air conditioning every summer. Whether or not this amount is reasonable seems to be the issue at hand. Some people in America feel that this amount of air conditioning use isn’t a problem. While this reviewer would not claim that this much energy usage is not a problem at all, it also doesn’t mean that people need to start suffering through summer without the help of air conditioning. There are a number of places in America where air conditioning is quite essential. Much of the Western United States get blisteringly hot and they are often landlocked. Air conditioning is a necessity for a large number of people, who could not do their jobs without it, much less be comfortable in their homes.

The problem is overuse of inefficient and outdated HVAC systems. Many people use old window units that suck up too much energy for the amount that they cool down a space. Even more energy is being wasted in buildings still using outdated central HVAC systems, which can end up using a ridiculous amount of electricity if they are not maintained properly. Many individuals and companies are willing to simply pay a little more in electricity for cooling instead of paying a larger lump sum to install a new system. This is one of those times when people say “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Really, you should fix it and it would be for the best if everyone did. AC-World is a great place for homeowners and companies to find affordable and efficient products for both cooling and heating. It’s not that hard. Why don’t you chip in a little, while staying cool?
